This policy explains what information StartupDigits collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
Information we collect
When you use our free lookup tools we process the phone number you enter, but we do not store it against your identity. If you join a wishlist or back-in-stock alert we collect your email address. Numbers are bought on our partners' own websites: our Numbers page passes your search (area code, digits or word) to NumberBarn's website, and anything you enter there, such as your name, email, phone number and payment details, goes to NumberBarn, not to us. We do not collect names, home addresses, or precise location.
How we use your information
If you opt in to a wishlist or back-in-stock alert, we use your email only to notify you about matching numbers, and only with your express consent (CASL). We use aggregated, consent-based analytics to improve the site. We never sell your data.
Lookup tools & registration metadata
Our area-code, carrier, line-type, and spam-check tools return network registration metadata only — the number's registered rate-center region, carrier, and line type. They never reveal who owns a number, their identity, or a live or real-time location. Any region shown is an approximate registered area, not a GPS position.
Cookies
We use essential cookies — chiefly one that remembers your language preference — plus local storage in your browser. Google Analytics cookies are set only if you allow them in the cookie banner. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and tools visitors find useful. Analytics stays off until you allow it, the data we see is aggregated, and we never use it for advertising. To withdraw consent, clear this site's data in your browser and pick “Essential only” next time. When you follow a link to one of our partners, we count the click — which partner, the page and spot it came from, your language, and the country your connection appears to come from — without cookies, IP addresses, or anything else that identifies you.
Data retention & deletion
We keep order records for as long as needed for accounting, tax, and support obligations, then delete them. You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under PIPEDA in Canada and CCPA-style laws in the US), you may access, correct, or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. We honor unsubscribe and opt-out requests.
