North American area codes: free CSV and JSON download
All 454 area codes in service in the +1 zone — 378 in the US, 55 in Canada and 21 in the Caribbean and Atlantic — with each code's city, time zone, year in service, overlays, and place names in Chinese and French.
Checked against NANPA's database dated October 6, 2026.
The CSV is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so Excel shows Chinese and accented names correctly. The JSON can be fetched from any website (CORS is open).

Where the data comes from
Codes, in-service years, overlays and splits come from the NPA database of the North American Numbering Plan Administrator (NANPA). Cities, capitals, Chinese and French names and time zones were checked one by one against official and reference sources. A region is where numbers are registered, not where a caller is.
